The winery opens June 21 at Lavender Fest!

Dougherty Orchard was established in 1883 and is Indiana’s oldest family-run orchard, a true testament to the state’s agricultural heritage. In 2016, we introduced apple wine made from our homegrown apples. Since then, the winery has expanded to offer 13 different wines, ranging from sweet varieties to robust reds, along with wine slushies a selection of beers to cater to various palates. We’re also working on new flavors to list of wines!
Dougherty Orchard's humble beginnings can be traced back to a modest five acres planted with apple, cherry, and peach trees by founder William Henry Dougherty. Today, it is owned and operated by Andra Dougherty Solis, the great-great-great-granddaughter of founder William Henry Dougherty, carrying forward the family's tradition. The orchard now spans over 64 acres and includes 33 varieties of apples. Each variety has a distinct flavor and characteristic, inspiring the uniqueness of the Dougherty Orchards wine selection.
Visitors can enjoy a leisurely glass of wine, wine slush, or beer while strolling through the orchard’s flower fields, experiencing the petting farm, or listening to live music. For those wishing to extend their enjoyment beyond their visit, we offer the option to purchase bottles of wine and select beers to savor at home.
